A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark
The Temptation of Jesus
Immediately the Holy Spirit compelled Jesus to go into the wilderness. He was there for forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was out among the wild animals, and angels took care of him.
The First Disciples
Later on, after John was arrested by Herod Antipas, Jesus went to Galilee to preach God's Good News. "At last the time has come!" he announced. "The Kingdom of God is near! Turn from your sins and believe this Good News!"
The Gospel of the Lord.
Reflection
Today, the gospel teaches us to keep our faith even there are many temptations. Satan tests Jesus in the wilderness but he remained faithful to God. He still proclaims the Good News as he went to Galilee. Moreover, the gospel invites us to repent from our sins. As Jesus said that the time to be with God has come. It is our time to repent from our sins and believe in God. Today let us ask ourselves: Am I ready to repent for my sins? As the lent season begins, let's start turning to God and repent from our sins.
